We are a ministry for all engaged, Christian couples wishing to have Riverview be a part of their wedding or wishing to use Riverview for their pre-marital counseling.

Objective

In this ministry each couple will be challenged and taught how to become a Godly spouse and how to have a marriage that honors God. The curriculm includes  several topics :
finances, communication, conflict resolution, role relationships, intimacy and more. The engaged couple will be mentored by a trained mentor couple that has been married at least five years and is excited to walk through the curriculm and share their own experiences.

Congratulations on your engagement!! Hopefully you have at leat 6-9 mos before your wedding to complete the pre-marriage counseling!

If you plan to use Riverview for your wedding or pre-marital counseling, the first thing to do is pick up a wedding packet from the church office. In the packet you will need to find and submit the application.  A pastor will contact you from there to schedule an interview. Then you will both attend the next pre-marriage orientation class.(offered 3 times annually) After that, you will be contacted by your mentor couple who will walk with you through your curriculm for 6-8 meetings prior to your wedding and then meet 2-4 more times during your first year of marriage. There is a cost of $110 for materials.

This is one of the most IMPORTANT things you can do to have a strong start to your exciting new adventure in life.

Strong happy marriage? GREAT! If you are interested in sharing the up's a downs in your marriage with an engaged couple, we'd love to have your help! We do require that you have been married at least five years.

Our mentoring program begins by submitting an application that can be picked up in the church office.(or e-mail  premarriage@eriv.net) Once you have been interviewed and trained (approx 6hrs of training) you will be matched with an engaged couple to mentor through their curriculm (6-8 meetings prior to their wedding date and then 2-4 times during their first year of marriage). There are monthly peer meetings required, currently on Monday nights 7:30-9pm, where all the mentors enrich their own marriages and share/support each other in mentoring. There is  a cost of $60 for materials.

Most of us either had a great experience in our own pre-marriage counseling and want to offer that same gift to others, or a not so great experience and want to help others avoid some of the struggles that came as a result!  Either way, thanks for considering  to help serve here at Riverview.
