Budget Coaching

The Riverview Budget Coaching Ministry matches trained volunteers, or budget coaches, with participants to assist them in developing a spending plan, or budget, based on sound Biblical financial principles.

Objectives:

• To help participants develop and live on a budget.
• To assist participants in applying biblical financial principles in all aspects of life.
• To communicate the hope of financial freedom.
• To assist participants with a practical plan for becoming debt-free.

Coaching Process:

To participate, you'll need to fill out an application. All info will be kept confidential. You will also be asked to fill out a personal financial statement, a debt list, and an estimated budget. Once you’ve completed and returned the application, you’ll be assigned a budget coach, who will contact you to set-up your first meeting. If you are married, it is strongly recommended that your spouse participates with you. The time, date, and location of your meetings will be established with your coach.

The length of time required for the coaching process will vary depending on your needs and desires, but typically you can expect to meet with your coach three to six times over the course of two to four months. You are free to withdraw from the coaching process at any time, we just ask that you communicate this desire with your coach.

Your coach will assist you in developing a customized spending plan to meet your needs. The “Journey to Financial Freedom” workbook, developed by Crown Financial Ministries, will be used during this process. It will be provided at the beginning of the coaching process at a cost of $10. The first coaching session will last about two hours, and subsequent sessions will last about one hour. You can expect to be assigned homework to complete between meetings.

Crisis Financial Help

We recognize that, from time to time, members of our church may fall on hard financial times and need some form of immediate, short-term support. If that’s the situation you find yourself in, someone from Riv’s Compassion Ministry is available to meet with you, assess your needs, and offer budget counseling and encouragement as well as possible financial assistance.
